My sissy, all grown up

In response to my mother's spectacular blog, which can be found at indigorobe.blogspot.com (I can't get the links to work. Grrr!)

I want you both to know this post made me cry and laugh. I know this is hard on you, mama, but you will be okay, and so will she. You know how we say, when you and I are around each other, suddenly we both depend on each other so much, we feel downright incompetent. When we are together, it is just easier and natural for us to lean on and depend on each other. But we survive apart every day, and Sissy will be exactly the same. She is a strong, confident, smart, beautiful woman who can do for herself, if only she gets the chance. I am so glad that she has this wonderful opportunity to spread her wings and fly. Your nest may feel empty, but you know both of your girls will always be your babies, ad are always happy to let you treat them as such (yay for mommy cooking Thanksgiving AND Christmas dinner this year! ;-)

Sissy, this is so exciting and I am SOOO happy for you. I already miss you (which is funny, since we haven't lived in the same house for almost four years) knowing how far away you are. I can't wait to see you in two weeks, and get to experience grown-up life through the eyes of my baby sister. Wow, that totally blows my mind. You will forever be the cool aunt that made Pidgeon's parents think Disneyland is a totally appropriate place to take him for his first birthday, and many many many more times each year, just cuz we gotta visit Auntie LaLa. He loves you, and I know he will love visiting you. I can't believe you are working at Disneyland!!! Remember as a kid, when you would say this was a dream job, and we'd all just laugh. Who ever thought it would become a reality, a real life job with real life pay and a real life apartment! yay! I am so proud of you. (Boy, rambling really does run in the family! I just have so many things to say to you!)

I want you to know most of all, sissy, that I am so proud of how brave you are. None of my plans were ever as ambitious as this. You really went after your dream and as scary as it may seem sometimes, I hope that when you wake up in the morning, and see your castle, you will think of me and know that I am behind you 100% of the way. I know you can do this. I love you!
