Welcome to the mommy club
I spent some time (finally) going through my e-mails tonight and took the time to reply to a sweet one from my Aunt Edna. She said i should let those who want to pamper me pamper and after pregnancy all is forgiven. Great advice. As I was writing to her, it occur ed to me my reply was a great blog update, so I copied and pasted, with some minor editing for the blogosphere(meaning I added more ramblings on) ;-)
Mom came to visit me this weekend, and I must admit it is still hard for me to let her pamper me so much. She cleaned my whole kitchen, did dishes, and cooked a huge lasagna and a pan of mac and cheese for Don and I to eat throughout the week. We had a nice sit down dinner together tonight over the Mac and cheese for the first time in a long time because thanks to her I had a clean kitchen and only had to stick the food in the oven to make dinner. It rocked!
Daddy also helped with organizing my pantry and mom reorganized my spice cabinet to make room for a section for all my tupperware too! i tried to help put dishes away and ended up dropping silverware. Mom told me to go sit down, and I happily obliged. I was having a nausea day. I just love when mom comes up and helps me out! I spend so much time looking at my kitchen (which is right off the livingroom, where I sit and watch Tv and read pregnancy books all day) I feel like I finally have regained my pretty house thanks to her!!! Oh, and they brought me a burrito I had been craving for two weeks. YAY! Moving on...
I am torn between wishing for a quick labor and a slow one, because there needs to be enough time for Mom, Dad and Lauren to drive from Tucson to Phoenix. I very much want mom to be with me during labor. I know Don will do his best to keep me calm, but having never been thru childbirth himself, I find Mom slightly more qualified, and want her to hold the other hand.
I definitely want to try to breastfeed. I think right now that that is one of the experiences I am most looking forward to. It just seems like such an intimate bond between mother and child and I can't wait to meet my little one and share all the love I already have for him or her.
The morning sickness is still going strong, but I am learning how to deal with it. my doctor gave me an anti-nausea pill that every doctor I talked to said was perfectly safe to take and it definitely helps. I try to take it first thing when i wake up, before I even have a chance to get that first wave, but some days, I need my bucket before i get to the pill. I keep buckets in the living room and bedroom just in case. It seems i never see it coming. The other day i sneezed and... woopsie!
Thank you for sharing your experience. One of my favorite parts of finding out I am pregnant is suddenly being included in this special club of mothers. I am no longer just the daughter or the niece. I have somehow gained equal status and every mother i know has shared a wonderful tidbit about their experiences. That just seems like such a special thing, to share these personal stories, and I feel blessed to have so many mothers around me to do so. It has been an incredible thing to take in all these bits of information and encouragement and realize I will soon be joining the mommy club! Holy cow!
I love you all!

You were being all deep and then you ruined it by putting "holy cow" silly :3
I love you :-D
P.S. The letters I had to copy to verify I'm not a spammer to allow this post to go through are "urkkrlpr". Fun fact of the day.
