I'm sick! Pity me!

I'm sick. Sniffles and generally feeling like death on a triscuit. (And if anyone can figure out what movie or TV show I got that from, I'd appreciate it, cuz I can't remember.) My head is fuzzy and I'm sleepy, but can only sleep for about an hour at a time but every once in awhile I get an energy burst and folded the laundry or do the dishes, so at least some cleaning is getting done. Fiance bought me the jumbo sizes of day quil and nyquil, so at least I am heavily medicated ;-) hehehe...

I put in my two weeks notice at blockbuster today. I feel bad cuz I know my boss loved me, but bigger and better things await at "a major airline", who has finally called to tell me class will begin September 12th. So, assuming I don't flunk out of training, my honeymoon will officially be in London and Paris for two whole weeks!!!!! Cuz free flights rock! (Oh, and mom and I will get to travel to Scotland together finally!!!! A little bachelorette party for two of sorts, I suppose. ;-) Just as soon as "this other major airline" completes the merger with us. yay!!!!!

That's all I go right now, cuz I can only breathe through one side of my nose and I'm getting light headed. Love you all!

So excited!!!

Fiance's birthday just happens to coincide with the one week he gets off of school for summer break. So, I took off work too, and we are off to Vegas baby!!!! Four glorious days and three (I'm sure relatively sleepless) nights on the strip are calling to me. I can't wait!!! We each have birthday cash supplemented by a little disposable income (I sold old textbooks and got b'day money from nanny! He just makes a lot of money and is a good saver.) And the extra paycheck in September is footing the bill for the hotel and the tickets to see George Carlin. This is very exciting!!! I'm bouncy, I'm so excited. ;-)

Anywho... I've been working a lot lately, and so I have not had much time to blog or call family. I am doing great at work. Even at a simple job, it feels good to kick some ass! I, apparently, am a good seller. I never knew that before, but I guess I have that girlish charm that makes people buy rewards cards. ;-)

Well, we had an 8am meeting, so I am tired and going to go to bed now. More blogging later. night night.

This is me writing more... kinda ;-)

Mom- when you are typing your blog, you should have a format bar above the box the words type in. If you click on the "Normal Size" box next to the font scroll, you can change the size. The color of your text can be changed by clicking on the "T" with the bunch of tiny colored boxes next to it and then clicking on the color of your choice.

Anywho... I wanted to update you on my Birthday, which I never got a chance to fully explicate the goings on of. Fiance took the whole day off work, not just an hour or two for dinner. Such a sweet boy! So we spent the day running just a few quick errands (P.O. and bank) and then went shopping (I have him SO hooked on Origins). I bought myself a little origins kit with travel sizes of my face wash, a charcoal face mask, a moisturizer with SPF and, most importantly, A Perfect World white tea skin guardian, of which I am almost completely out, so that was really why I bought the thing. It was a steal at $27, since the full size of A Perfect World costs fifty bucks! Fiance got a kit that contains all you need to soothe your feet. I certainly encouraged the purchase, cuz I of course get to steal some of it, but he really loved the foot scrub/ lotion combo and the soak, and it came with that leg lifts stuff that makes you tingle and keeps you happy. He loved that stuff, so his $27 kit made him very happy too. We each got $10 off cards for our B'days, so we both saved a bit of money.

Dinner was at The Melting Pot. I love this restaurant because it is all fondue, and that is just WAY too fun! So, normally we would be cheap and spend about $40-$50 on just a cheese fondue followed by a milk chocolate desert fondue. If you were to check out their menu and perhaps even go there, you would understand how HEAVENLY this food is. Not only is fondue fun, but it tastes AMAZING there. So, anyway... Since it was my B'day, Fiance suggested we branch out and try the full four course meal. With tax and tip our evening came to $100 even. We had our cheese fondue, followed by a sufficient but pretentious salad with dressing that had too many flavors in it. But then came the real treat, the meat. They bring you a fondue pot of broth and you skewer little chunks of meat and place them in the pot for about one and a half to two minutes and then remove and eat. They give you like ten sauces with these cute little spoons in them to try with everything. You also get vegetables(broccoli, squash, mushrooms and potatoes), which you can just dump in the pot and then fish out with a slotted metal spoon. The meat included Lobster tails... YES! Lobster!!!! Shrimp, chicken, a teriyaki prepared meat, some NY strip steak (I think that's what it was called anyway... NY somethin') and some other meat. Each of us had two chunks of each, except for the lobster tails, of which we each had one cut into four pieces. It was amazing! The best meal I've ever had. I was still full the next morning. Desert, of course followed in it's usual glorious chocolate self, but the meat was just way too good, and having lobster made it feel even niftier. ;-)

So, we then headed home and stopped at Fry's on the way because I have neglected my duties of grocery shopping and we had no bread or milk and needed it cuz we LOVE milk (especially with Oreos). So, while there Fiance let me get myself a Boston cream pie, which I have been SOOOOOOOO in the mood for. When we got home he unpacked the groceries while I checked my e-mail, and when I finished I turned around and there he was, a candle sticking out of the middle of the chocolate cream pie and him singing happy birthday. It was THE Sweetest thing!! So cute.

And that was my incredible birthday. And to top it all off, Fiance's brother Mike got me a Starbucks card. It really can't get much better than that. ;-)

It's Official!

According to my school website, I am as of yesterday an official graduate of the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Communication. How cool is that?! Oh, and mom, keep an eye out for my diploma in the mail, will you? The address on file when I applied for graduation was yours. Thanks! ;-)

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank my parents for everything they did to get me through those four years of college, among their marvelous contributions:
- my first two year's tuition and books
- copious amounts of UA paraphenalia both upon entering and leaving college
- a roof over my head, and a very pretty one at that
- food in my tummy, when mom didn't burn dinner ;-)
- clothes on my back, to prevent the embarrassment of attending class is a trash bag with tissue box slippers
- a support system unparalleled by any other in the world
- the belief that college was not only a necessity, but totally doable
- the freedom to chose my own path, by changing majors and minors and adding and deleting majors and minors without any criticism
- the opportunity to work or not work
- the chance to visit and fall in love with a land far far away
- and last, but not least, the best thing I ever got out of college... A whole-hearted encouragement in school spirit. And so, in honor of my wildcat heritage, I hereby declare that ASU SUCKS! ;-) Okay, glad I got that out of my system. ;-)

Thank you mom and dad and Lauren for being my sounding board for ideas and my strength when I doubted my decisions. Because of each of you, I am officially today a college graduate. THANK YOU!

I have a nice family!

The abandoned people came to visit this weekend. It was fun! They arrived Friday evening after a day of shopping in the big city. They arrived a little early, which I believe was just a convenient excuse to come see me at work at Blockbuster in my goofy uniform complete with name tag and pester me about where to find videos and how funny it is that one of the videos they rented was behind the wrong display case, so it was the wrong video and obviously this must be due to my lack of diligence in correctly replacing videos. (for the record, if you ever rent any movie from the children's section, be diligent about checking to be sure it is correct. The little rugrats LOVE to shuffle the videos. oy!)

So, anywho... The reason for the visit was my impending birthday on Tuesday. I received many wonderful presents that will keep me busy and happy for quite awhile. Mommy gave me Gilmore Girls season 2 last time I visited them as an early gift. I spent quite a long time watching that while Fiance was at work. I look forward to the time it will take to watch every episode in the Third season I have now received. Along the purple theme (the DVD box was purple!) I got the most beautiful purple picture frame, and my lil sis, that darling girl, got me yet another thing I have desperately wanted but could not justify spending my own hard-earned money on... A second matching pillow sham to complete my purple quilt collection. YAY! I also got a belle marker and something as a joint gift for both me and Fiance which we haven't opened yet cuz he has not yet been awake for such opening. In fact, I don't think my family saw him at all in the 48 hours or so they were here!

So, now I am watching GG season 3 while making a detailed grocery list and typing this blog (not necessarily simultaneously). So, yay! I love my family. ;-)
